Kaarisilta Triennale 2026 in English

Kaarisilta Triennale 23 June – 2 August 2026

The theme of the seventh Kaarisilta Triennale is the senses. Sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste are present in the artists’ works in various ways. The exhibition presents art from the Nordic countries and the Baltics.

Curated through an open call, the exhibition emphasizes the impactfulness and originality of art. Its aim is to promote equality within the art field so that artists requiring support also have the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professionally organized art event. One of the event’s goals is to challenge the power structures of the art world and to blur the boundaries created by society that categorize and separate people.

The main exhibition of the Triennale takes place at the Kaarisilta Art and Activity Centre, at Ersta Manor in Villähde, Lahti. Triennale artworks will also be exhibited at the Cellar Gallery of Malva, Kahiwa Cafe and Bakery, and the exhibition spaces of the Lahti Main Library.

The non-profit association Kaarisilta Ry has organized activities for people requiring special support since 1987. Since 2003, Kaarisilta has been the first institution in Finland to provide vocational special education in the fields of visual arts and music.

The exhibition will be open to the public from June 23 to August 2, 2026:
